Kids Planet Day Nurseries (“Kids Planet”) is the UK’s largest independently owned nursery operator, ranked #1 for quality childcare provision.
Kids Planet’s 107 sites are mostly clustered around the Liverpool and Manchester area (with a recent expansion to Oxford) and has responsibility for the care and education of over 10,000 children.
Co-founder and CEO Clare Roberts has led a number of acquisitions and greenfield openings, expanding the roll-out of Kids Planet sites from 17 to 107 since 2016. The investment from Fremman will support the acceleration of Kids Planet’s national expansion, further senior hires and ongoing recruitment across its settings.
Souter co-invested alongside European mid-market private equity house Fremman Capital to complete the secondary management buy-out of Kids Planet in 2021.
