Souter Investments has taken a stake in Aberdeen-based fire protection specialist Oteac, enabling it to establish a presence in Edinburgh.
The new office in Leith will mainly focus on its marine activities and the expansion will create up to 13 new jobs.
As well as expanding into Edinburgh, chief executive Bill Hogarty said Oteac was looking to develop opportunities in oil and gas markets across Africa, the Americas, Asia and the Middle East.
Souter Investments has come on board as part of a Lonsdale Capital Partners investment group. Lonsdale acquired a majority stake in the business in October 2013.
Sir Brian Souter said: “Oteac has a robust development plan in place and this underpinned our decision to invest.”
